Mrs. Brown

Hi, my name is Beth Brown.  I teach 6th grade ELA. I grew up in Ninety Six, and I graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1980.  I have a B S degree and Master's degree from Lander University.

I began my teaching career at McCormick Middle School.  In 1986, I started teaching at Edgewood. I have taught both ELA (6th, 7th, and 8th) and math (6th).

My family has been very supportive throughout my teaching career.  I have been married to Hal Brown for 37 years.  He has always understood that a teacher's responsibility does not stop at 3:30. We have two children.  Benjamin is 34 years old. He is a special needs adult with a wonderful personality. Dee Dee is 24 years old.  She works for Greenwood School District 50. She is sweet and kind hearted. Included in our family is Tillie and Tuck, our chocolate labs, Comet, Sophie, and Lindie, our yellow labs, and Callie is our cat, but she doesn't know she's a cat.

I am firm with my rules, but I am also fair. I believe that students need to know that there are  boundaries and responsibilities to obtain success.  I like it when I see a student who has been successful. That makes teaching rewarding for me.
