Mrs. Brown
Hi, my name is Beth Brown. I am the ISS teacher. I grew up in Ninety-Six and graduated from Ninety-Six High School in 1980. I have a B.S. degree in Education and a Master's degree from Lander University. I began my teaching career at McCormick Middle School. In 1986, I started teaching at Edgewood. I have taught both ELA (6th, 7th, and 8th) and math (6th). Last year, I decided to leave the classroom after 40 years. I am very excited to move to the ISS this year.
My family has been very supportive throughout my teaching career. I have been married to Hal Brown for 39 years. He has always understood that a teacher's responsibility does not stop at 3:30. We have two children. Benjamin is 36 years old. He is a special needs adult with a wonderful personality. Dee Dee is 26 years old. She works for Greenwood School District 50. She is sweet and kind-hearted. Included in our family are Tillie and Tuck, our chocolate labs, Comet, Sophie, and Lindie, our yellow labs, and Callie is our cat, but she doesn't know she's a cat.
I am firm with my rules, but I am also fair. I believe that students need to know that there are boundaries and responsibilities to obtain success. I like it when I see a successful student. That makes teaching rewarding for me.
